Arcade
Sometime in the Wisconsin winter of 2007 I had probably the most braindead idea in the world – make a home arcade system just to play old school games on.
Yeah that went over like a lead balloon, but I DID manage to create a 2 joystick 8 button setup to play my favorite games in.
The second part of the project never got off the ground – making a full-size cabinet. Too damned heavy, let’s leave it at that. I did decide to finish the third part in any case, an emulator launcher capable of using just the USB Tankstick for input – no keyboard or mouse required, and no weird things like voice commands or touchscreens.
The irony is no part is actually fully completed – the tankstick needs a coat of clearcoat after I figure out some images to put on it, the launcher that I’m using was built in Game Maker and needs to get redone in XNA 3, and the arcade cabinet…Well it’s too damn big and it’s just not going to happen.
And still, I’m working on it in the free time I’ve got. These pages and their sub-pages are my Home Arcade Story.

I plan on updating these somewhat frequently, depending on how much progress actually gets made on the box-art and the new launcher; with any luck I can actually FINISH this project instead of leaving it as a flat-black wooden box with a slanted top.
